Ioan Chirila, Ph.D.,
is currently Dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology at the University
Babeş-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca; a correspondent member of the Ecumenical Theological
Research Fraternity from the Ratisbon Institute, Jerusalem, Israel; and a
member of the National Commission for Comparison Church History. Dr. Chirila also does research in the field
of theology and history and is the director of the research program (grant)
"Bible and multiculturality in Transylvania in the context of European
exegesis in the 16th-20th century."
He also serves as the co-ordinator
of theological collections at the Cartimpex and Limex Publishing House from
Cluj-Napoca and is a member of the Director Council of the Association for the
Dialogue between Science and Theology in Romania - ADSTR and the leader of the
ADSTR Pole from Cluj-Napoca. In addition
to all of this, Dr. Chirila has authored twelve books.
