Lodovico Galleni, is professor of general zoology and of environmental ethics at the
University of Pisa (Italy). As a
zoologist his main research field was chromosomal evolution in animals and the
connections between karyotype rearrangements with speciation. He is also looking
for the different implications of this theory with the Science and Theology
relationships and with environmental ethics. He is a member of the Council of
the European Society for the Study of Science and Theology (ESSSAT), of the
European Advisory Board of the Center of Theology and Natural Sciences of
Berkeley (California) and he is co-ordinator of the section on biology of the
International Research Area on Foundations of Sciences (IRAFS) of the
Pontifical University of Lateran. He is co-ordinator of the Etruscan Local
Group, part of the Local Societies Initiative of the Metanexus Institute.
