David Allan Larrabee received
his B.S. in applied and engineering physics from Cornell University in
1976. He received is M.S. (1978) and
Ph.D. (1980) in applied physics also from Cornell University. Dr. Larrabee did post-doctoral work at
Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory and became a member of the
laboratories research staff. Dr.
Larrabee left Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory to work in the electronics
industry where he rose to the level of Chief engineer for Penn Airborne and
later chief electrical engineer of Smith Industries (Malvern, Pa). He returned to Academia, first as an adjunct
professor and is currently a full professor in the Physics Department of East
Stroudsburg University. He teaches a
wide range of courses including “Physics as a Liberal Art” and a history of
scientific ideas course. Dr. Larrabee’s interest in science, religion and
society was stimulated by his participation in the Eco-Justice Task force at
Cornell University and his original intent on doing graduate work at a
theological seminary.
