Farzad Mahootian teaches a philosophy-intensive survey of world literature and a course on science and religion for the Honors Program at Shepherd University. As director of the Nexus of Science and Spirit, he organizes an ongoing series of events highlighting and fostering the dialogue between science, religion, art, and technology. He is also Director of Sponsored Research at the University. Dr. Mahootian has taught philosophy and science for about 20 years. In the 1990s, with the support of NASA, he developed a research-oriented Earth system science courts for high school students, including some web-based science visualization systems for use by non-specialists.
