Group Discussion of Science and Religion in Bioethics

Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores, S.C.
(Universidad Anáhuac)
Mexico City
This society brings together academics representing fields of philosophy, ethics, theology, and the sciences with Christian and Jewish clergy and interested members of the community. Program plans include bi-annual conferences, discussion forums and lectures in academic and seminary locations, as well as well-publicized public events to invite the participation of members of the surrounding local community. These offerings will be complemented by a website, electronic bulletin, and an annual journal to promote outreach in the interest of increasing membership and involvement. In addition, monographic publications resulting from works presented during bi-annual conferences offer further insights to the broader Mexican and Latin American academic community. Topics include broad historic and specific overviews of religious insights into ethical considerations in the field of biomedical sciences to invite a deeper appreciation of the role of medicine, spirituality, and ethics for the wellbeing of humankind. The University of Anáhuac provides matching funds.
