Sacred Spaces are vanishing. Through closure and decay, our disappearing cultural icons are losing their influence and power as expressions of the highest excellence in the arts, architecture and aesthetics. These places let us inhabit beauty, receive fresh glimpses of transcendence, and celebrate human life together.

Jeff LeFever is an artist and photographer who is determined to share the spiritual beauty expressed in the consecrated and sacred spaces around the world.  The Global Spiral featured some of Jeff’s work in the in the January 2009 issue. Jeff is about to embark on another journey to capture the beauty of sacred spaces, this time in Israel.  But he needs your help.  Jeff invites you to join him in his December mission to Israel by becoming a Sponsor.

With help from his sponsors, Jeff spent a month in the Czech Republic photographing the churches of Prague, Brno, Olomouc, and Kutna Hora. “All I have done so far in this documentation has been sponsor supported. Jeff’s work, beyond the photos, expresses the awareness of visual beauty and its value to our spirit. His talks generally center on how we are affected in the contemplation of such images; that such expenses to have fine artists apply themselves to greater principles is a value that far exceeds the material substance. The images, Jeff acquires on his trips serve to illustrate his point via imagination and thought at gallery shows, presentations, and publications.
