Ron Choong, an ordained Presbyterian minister, founded the Academy for Christian Thought (ACT) in 2002. He read English law, the natural sciences, international relations, the humanities and theology in Great Britain & the United States. He received his law degree (LLB Hons) from the University of London in the same year that he graduated from the British Open University with a B.A. in science and economics. After serving chambers in international law, he began service as a missionary evangelist in New York with International Students, Inc. In 1996, he attended Princeton Seminary where he graduated with an M.Div. in 1999 and a Th.M. (philosophical theology) in 2000. Then he began an S.T.M. at Yale in Islamics and Medieval Philosophy as well as a Ph.D. at Princeton Seminary under the direction of Professor J. Wentzel van Huyssteen. He completed his S.T.M. in 2004 and expects to complete the Ph.D. in April 2007. In 2002, Ron founded ACT in New York Cityï¾—an independent research and training resource for Christian apologetics with reference to science, philosophy and world religions. He also conducts a summer preaching and teaching ministry in Asia. His research interests include the emergence of moral cognition in light of the neurology of consciousness. He was selected to participate in the CTNS-STARS conference “Evolution, ET, and the Significance of Life in the Universe” from January 11-15, 2007.
