Maureen Drdak, fine artist, is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the University of the Arts. She studied at Temple University and the Barnes Foundation, with extensive travel and research in Egypt, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Tunisia, Nepal and restricted regions within the Himalayas. Her work concerns relate to universal paradigms of mythic archetypes, and their relevance to contemporary space.Awards include those from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, The National Academy of Design-NYC, and the Franklin Mint Foundation for the Arts. Her most recent awards are for Lung-Ta, a collaborative with Philadelphia composer Andrea Clearfield.
