Those in active ministry are routinely called upon to engage questions on the deeper nature of reality, as well as social and cultural issues. Many of these intellectual topics and cultural issues properly involve science as well as theology and Biblical studies, and how well people of faith understand these matters has a considerable impact on the effectiveness of North American churches. Yet the relevance of science for these questions has never been adequately addressed even by the science-religion literature of the past two decades.

This is a new, and still developing, website devoted to helping people in active ministry engage science in richer ways in the course of their work. We will be continually adding new resources for ministry as we discover them or as they are created. In the meantime, however, the initial purpose of this site is to serve as a resource specifically for the individuals and institutions invited to a grant competition of the John Templeton Foundation, titled “Science for Ministry Initiative - Supporting Effective Science Education Programs and Resources for People in Active Ministry.” In time, participants in this program will add substantially to the site and to resources for ministry in general. We appreciate your patience.
