Dr. David Hay is a Scottish zoologist who worked for several years at the Religious Experience Research Unit founded in Oxford in 1969 by Sir Alister Hardy FRS, emeritus Professor of Zoology at Oxford University.  When Hardy died in 1985, David took over as Director. His books include – “The Spirit Of The Child”, written with Rebecca Nye (revised edition, London: Jessica Kingsley 2006) which is a unique empirical study of the spirituality of young children; “Something There”, London: Darton, Longman & Todd, 2006) a practical study  of the interaction between social construction and the biological substrate in shaping sui generis experience. David’s most recent book is a biography of Alister Hardy entitled “God’s Biologist” (London: Darton, Longman & Todd, 2011). Currently David is Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the Department  of Divinity and Religious Studies in King’s College at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland
