Diego Gracia Guillén is the Director of the Xavier Zubiri Foundation and a Visiting Professor of Bioethics at the Faculty of Theology at Comillas.  Born in Madrid on May 21, 1941, Gracia Guillén earned his Bachelor of Medicine in 1970 from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, his MD in 1973 from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a doctorate in Psychiatry from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca.  Previous positions include Research Associate of the CSIC in 1974, Associate Professor of the History of Medicine in 1978, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 1981 to 1983, Director of the Library for the Faculty of Medicine, and Director of the Masters Program in Bioethics. 

He specializes in bioethics, a subject on which he has written several books and currently heads the Institute of Bioethics of the Foundation of Health Sciences.
