Lucia Santaella is full professor at São Paulo Catholic University (Pucsp), Head of the post-graduate program in Technologies of Intelligence and Digital Design and director of CIMID, Research Center in Digital Media, Pucsp.  She is one of the honorary Presidents of the Latin-American Federation of Semiotics and correspondent member of the Argentinian Academy of Fine Arts.  She has been elected President of the Charles S. Peirce Society, USA, for 2007.  She has published 29 books and organized 11 books.
