Philosophy of Nature Forum TRIESTE-NIF (Nature, Intentionality and Finality Research Group) (SophiaEuropa)
Departimento di Filosofia, Universitá degli Studi di Trieste
Rome, Italy
Chairperson:  Antonio Russo

This society has been quite active at its host university, offering a multidisciplinary series of lectures and public seminars and all the usual activities of good local societies. However, this society has also played a major role in building a vibrant pan-European network of high-level researchers who are engaged in the philosophical issues that surround the science and religion dialogue. The group helps organize international conferences and networking opportunities, including an upcoming conference on “action theories” to be held in Rome and a conference entitled, “The Concept of Infinity: Philosophical, Theological, Mathematical, and Science of Nature Views,” to be held in Tübingen. The leadership of this society launched a webforum for and has become the center of the entire SophiaEuropa project. Future plans call for publication of work generated in the research program. We could not have made as much progress as we have with the SophiaEuropa project with the help of this society, and their leadership is proving to be a great benefit to the wider LSI network.
